Internationally Known Artist to Present Two Area Workshops.

 

Jonathan Talbot to offer Workshops in Collage and Image Transfer at his studio in Warwick, NY.

Internationally known artist Jonathan Talbot will present a two-day  COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION workshop at his studio in Warwick, NY  on Saturday and Sunday, February 26 & 27, 2011 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. He will also present an EXPLORING IMAGE TRANSFER workshop on March 6th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.


Talbot, the author of Collage: A New Approach, is the developer of a new collage technique which eliminates wet adhesives from the collage-assembly process. He is also one of the pioneers of the image transfer technique.  Talbot's works have been shown at the National Academy and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, have represented the U.S. overseas in exhibits sponsored by the State Department and the Smithsonian Institution, and are included in museum collections in the U.S. and Europe.
 

The workshops, which are for beginners and experienced artists alike, will provide participants with the opportunity to learn these technique directly from their developer.  In addition, during the collage workshop, Mr. Talbot will also lead participants in exploring composition, the evolution of art, creation of a personal visual vocabulary, presentation and framing of finished works, & more.


Some of the venues which have hosted previous Talbot workshops include The New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, The Connecticut Graphic Arts Center, Marlboro College in Vermont, Mesa State College in Colorado, The Maitland Art Center in Maitland, Florida, The Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, California, Lehman College of the City University of New York, and others.
