CREATIVE EXPLORATION WORKSHOPS

Expand your artistic horizons with internationally-known artist, Jonathan Talbot. Explore composition and the creation of a personal visual vocabulary. Find new opportunities for spontaneity as you learn his exciting collage technique that eliminates liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. Other subjects covered include the"paperless" transfer of printed and photocopied images, tissue overlays, permanency of materials, preparation of substrates, sources of tools and materials, presentation and framing of finished works, and more. Jonathan has led hundreds of successful workshops in North America and Europe. The Morris Museum of Arts and Sciences, Marlboro College, The New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, The Cape Cod Museum of Art, Kansas State University, The Connecticut Graphic Arts Center, Sacred Heart University, The Mendocino Art Center, Mesa State College, Esalen, The Ohio Watercolor Society, The Indiana Arts Education Association, The Beaufort Art Association, Southern Utah University, and Mutual Benefit Life, Inc. are just some of the many organizations which have hosted past Talbot Workshops, Demonstrations, and Presentations.

Warwick, NY - 5-Day Creative Exploration Intensive
Saturday & Sunday, June 22 & 23, 2024. The Artist's Studio - Warwick, NY: COLLAGE TECHNIQUES &
CREATIVE EXPLORATION 2024 Enjoy new opportunities for spontaneity as you learn how to eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. Other subjects to be covered include "Getting Started," Accessing
our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied
Images, Preserving Found Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources
of Tools and Materials, Presentation and Framing of Finished Works, and
more (some of this workshop's specific goals will be determined by the
participants at the beginning of the workshop). Hours: 9:30 AM to 5:00
PM + optional evening studio hours 'til 9 PM on Saturday. Workshop Fee: $425. Includes all materials, a free copy of Jonathan's book "Collage: A New Approach," access to all tools in the studio, full lunch (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. upon request), & additional refreshments each day. Sunday, July 14, 2024. The Artist's Studio - Warwick, NY: EXPLORING ACRYLIC IMAGE TRANSFER During this one-day workshop we will explore a variety of acrylic image transfer techniques including the basics of Acrylic Image Transfers, hand coloring transfers, removing the paper before the transfer has been applied, removing the paper after the transfer has been applied, transferring directly from magazines, how to create right-reading transfers with and without a computer, and more. Hours: 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Workshop Fee: $185. Includes all materials, a free copy of Jonathan's book: Acrylic Image Transfer: A Handbook for Artists, access to all tools in the studio, and continental breakfast, full lunch (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. upon request), & refreshments. Monday, August 12 thru Friday, August 16, 2024 The Artist's Studio - Warwick, NY: 5-DAY CREATIVE EXPLORATION INTENSIVE Collage? Painting? Assemblage? Printmaking? Sculpture? Video? All of These and More? The structure and goals of this five-day workshop will be established in advance by all participants (including Jonathan). At least two Zoom meetings (and maybe more) will be scheduled during June and July to plan this workshop and confirm that the workshop will "work" for everyone concerned. The Zoom meetings will also enable Jonathan to make sure that all needed materials are available by the time the workshop begins. Hours: 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM with evening studio work time at no extra cost. Workshop Fee: $1000. Registration for this 5-day workshop is by phone only.
