This clock, which runs counter-clockwise, was created in 2018 in response to the campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" which would have us believe that we will be better off if we return to the past.

The clock is also a response to the 2018 mass shooting at the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in which seventeen people died and seventeen more were injured. The minute and hour hands have been eliminated and the second hand has been replaced by a model of an AK-47 Assault Rifle. The numbers have been replaced by the dates and locations of mass shootings and the numbers of dead and injured, interspersed with the names of people who have been assassinated with guns. Hopefully, the clock will remind us that the past is not something we want to return to. It's not too late to stop the hate but to do so we must move forward, not backward.
