Artist's Statement

ARTIST'S STATEMENT For a number of years during my youth, circumstances tied my fortunes to those of the Romany people, the people we call gypsies. "Patrin" is the Romany word for the signs that are left by the Romany people to tell others where they have gone or to pass along information. Like the traveler who ties a knotted string to a tree branch I am, when I create works of art, leaving signs for others. My hope is that when those with whom I share life's roads see my "patrin," they will find pleasure in the knowledge that they journey in the company of kindred spirits.  |
